ServInfo with the BFSG server
« on: Sat, 07 Mar 2009, 15:15:26 »
It is now possible to use some of the functions of ServInfo with the BFSG server. You will however need to configure the program! The BFSG server should be set up as a custom network. The "Connection Parameters" dialog through which you set this up is accessible from the "Options... Connection Parameters" menu.

The image below shows how to set the program up to work. Note that you may not be able to select "Bristol FSG" in the "Automatically load data..." setting until you've set up the information in the "Custom Network Settings" part of the dialog and "OK"d and reopened the dialog.

<edit>Just noticed... the "Use a proxy server" checkbox should remain unchecked!</edit>

When we've worked out how to get the TeamSpeak part of it working, we'll post it here!

OK - the TeamSpeak part looks like it's now available too...

Assuming you've managed to get data from the BFSG server into ServInfo (see the separate help thread in the "Help!" board if you haven't, then you should also have access to voice data through the "Voice Servers" tab.

You'll need to set up your TeamSpeak authentication details in the "Connection Paramters" window, and choose the "BFSG-V" server in the voice server drop down on the Voice Servers tab. You should then see a list of rooms that exist on the server, and you should be able to join a room (although you will need TS installed for that bit to work)!
