Club online flying

To take everyone's mind off one divisive subject, that will remain nameless but is flooding the news, could I suggest another?
What client software should we be using online???
I don't care as long as everyone is using the same so I don't have to maintain 2 pieces of software.
My preference at the moment is joinfs as
Easy to use (when you know how)
Actively being updated and improved
X plane and FSX/P3D supported.
Could I suggest an online referendum a bit like Brexit (damn I said it).
Please keep this thread friendly as it is something I think is for the benefit of all.
Phil

That's my choice too. It's not perfect but has many advantages over an FSD based system (vPilot,FSInn,SquawkBox etc.) IMHO

Sadly not quite as much as one might like at times and will never have FS9 support (is anyone still flogging that old horse?)

I wonder who will be on the Remoaners side? There'salways people like that. The House of Commons is infested with them.

My vote goes for JoinFS.
Easy to set up and easy to use.
Also X plane friendly.

We in the GAs use FSJoin and Little Navmap which works 95% of the time and I see No point in this conversation. Let those who want to fly FSinn, FS9, PlanG and FSC do so and let me fly what I want to fly,There is no need for a pole

My Vote is vPilot. I have no problems with vPilot and see aircraft in there correct liveries.

Except for XSquawkbox (the only thing that worked before for X-Plane) I now use JoinFS.
Most in the GA group are I think and at least I can join in the discussion about common problems.

I believe that there are around 15 REGULAR "heavy" fliers.
There are around 20 REGULAR. G.A. fliers.
There are a further 15+ OCCASIONAL casual fliers.
Of those (~50), only 2/3 indicate that they are
still
experiencing "issues".
OK, a few others had, previously, reported some initial problems, but THEY were all quickly helped ...to review their installations & settings.
It seems (to me) to be entirely reasonable that current (up to date) simming software & add-ons may NOT now work for FS4, FS5, FS2000, FS9.
That "amazing" new software many of us purchased 15+years ago (costing an exorbitant £20 ) has been superceded. And improved!
Today's aircraft - and the many "essential" peripherals we have grown to enjoy - ARE better...and cheaper (relative to earnings!)...they DO more...they LOOK better....they FLY better.
Consider.....
Many of us oldies will recall the incredible feeling of "realism"....with just one boxy 'Cessna' or a 'jet'.... over plain green "land", through clear blue "sky".
Some might even remember earlier 'wire-model' graphics and blurred 'dials'.
But....would you - really - still be happy with THAT, today?
Life moves on.
Even FSX is now (almost) 'legacy', P3d2/3 is 'ageing', P3d4 & X-Plane (11+) are - REASONABLY - the current principle Sim platforms.... running happily on Windows XP, Vista & Win7/8/10. Plus specialist (single style) platforms for warbirds/copters, Orbix, VR headsets, 4K screens, Dolby, controllers....
How many of us own (family/fun) 'puters/lap-tops that run
only
DOS? Very few of us now have B/W teles or phones that are tied to walls?
How many of us remember (fondly?) our first cars that ran on 2-star petrol, had solid tyres, side-valves, orange trafficators, 8-track cassette players, winding windows & dip-sticks!....(together with AA men to keep us moving!).
NOSTALGIA IS NOT WHAT IT USED TO BE !!

MY GOD
I must be an outcast I still have a phone tied to the wall NOT to my ear, shame on me.
However I do fly x-plane 11.3 but cant seem to get the hang with flight planning on littlenavmap.
I have taken fsx off my computer it' s outclassed compaired to x-plane and p3d as Barry said.
I will plod on rewardless with my next to useless internet. Thats country living for you.

If you hold a referendum, make sure you decide in advance what you're going to do when the result is declared!
