BFSG FSD Proxy for the mac?
« on: Sat, 03 Feb 2018, 13:50:10 »
Hi am new to the group.

I am an X-Plane 11 Mac user.

Is there a mac version of the BFSG FSD Proxy available? or a tool to run it within MacOS?
I tried already Wine (windows emu) but it failed.

regards
martin

Hi Martin,

I'm afraid there's not a Mac version of the proxy program. I've no access to a Mac to be able to develop one, and even if I did it would be a rewrite from the ground up as its heavily tied into Microsoft's .Net CLR.

That said, if you're an X-Plane pilot flying on our server, simply configure XSquawkBox to connect to port 6810 rather than the default 6809 and there's an instance of the proxy running there which means you don't need one on your own machine.

Hi Andy,

Can you tell me please the specific version of server software you are using for the online flying.
We have tried on our server to enable 6810 but failed so far.

Regards
martin

Our server is Windows.

We're running a (slightly) modified version of the FSD server that's freely available for download compiled for Windows listening on port 6809, and an instance of the proxy listening on port 6810.

A server listening on port 6810 won't cut it...

Hi Andy,

Put the proxy software is bind to localhost, how did you change that?
