Filton airfield EGTG
« on: Tue, 10 Nov 2015, 16:36:33 »
Does any member have plate of Filton airport showing the plan view.
I have the approach charts for 09 and 27, but I destroyed my copy of the plan view when it closed.
I am a volunteer at the Bristol Aero Museum, working on the A320 simulator and would like to include the chart with the instructions of how to fly the simulator.

I just Googled "EGTG Airport", but then clicked on 'view images' and there are quite a few photos, plans, charts, etc.of various times past....
Might find the sort of view you want!

HI Ian,
I don't think that it creates a "specific" HTTP address.....
Just go to Google (I think you just type "www.google.co.uk) in your web-browser and then ion the search box, I just typed (only) the words "EGTG Airport"
You then have a 'menu choice' of finding texts/images/videos/maps/shopping and others...
I just clicked on "images" and - literally! - hundreds of pictures/plans/maps/adverts/historic photos etc appeared...
These included some (old) aeronautic charts and historic top-down photos....including some 'domestic' photos, probably taken by former pilots on departure/arrival.
(Note, you do HAVE to click on the "images" menu....otherwise Google brings back a load of irrelevant texty rubbish.)(although it did give a direct hyperlink to the Wikipedia data on Filton)
Give it a try.....

Hi Barry, correct me if I'm wrong but I understand Filton and Plymouth and Blackpool are all now closed. Thankfully not in Plan G..
Have i7 CPU, 930 @ 2.80 Ghz - 6144 Mb of RAM - Direct X 11 - 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium - GeForce GTX 480 (Memory 4063 Mb) PCI Express - Saitek X52 with a BenQ 24" Monitor and an LG 22" monitor for moving maps.
I still try to retain a sense of the idiotic - it's  one way I can keep my sanity.

Filton IS closed (sadly!)
Blackpool has been re-acquired by the local Council but is now restricted to only GA.
Plymouth seems to be "under discussion" locally....again!!
(According to Mr Google..... ;D )
