Ah mes enfants,

Est  formidable, Young Lord Bazzer and I have downloaded and installed this scenery, and all we can say is "Fantastic and Incredible". The level of detail and mesh is to behold, especially as it is FREE. It will give you the South West corner of France, From North of Bordeaux to the Spanish border, down to the med, along as far as Nimes, Back up North west to Ussel and back across to Bordeaux. Which is quite a chunk of France, and 64 airport/airfields to boot.

Occitania VFR beta 6

Just keep clicking 'Suivant' to install, as it comes with it's own .exe installer and then activate in your Addon Scenery folder within the Scenery library of FSX, activate both Landclass and VFR, making sure VFR is above landclass.

Then go fly and enjoy the new eye candy.

Update 13:54 hrs 11/02/2010

Not too sure if this will help, so here goes

http://www.arthurandarthur.co.uk/flying/French_airfields.htm

Seems to be a site with references to most airports/airfields in France.

Further Update  14:05 11/02/2010

However for most of the scenery that is available for France, can be found here,

http://walhalla.mine.nu/fsx/france.html

And it also contains the locations for downloads.

As for scenery, will keep looking.

And to further whet your appetite for France scenery to go alongside the Occitania,

http://fsprovence.free.fr/index_fsx.htm

Download all three and follow the readme

Why Peter, Well if you have downloaded the French Scenery, does this mean you have finally fixed your system and all is now running smoothly, including Teamspeak, so that you can now come and speak to the rest of us??.

Cheers  Myk

Charlie, if your french is up to it, have a look at this,

http://walhalla.mine.nu/fsx/france.html

This is a portal site, which will tell you what is available and where to get it from, this also includes some French site and France VFR. But the majority of the available scenery is hosted on Avsim or Flightsim.   Hope this helps in your looking for Brittany scenery and if you do find any that is good, please post back on here from where you got it from.

Free French VFR Scenery

When I saw the title of this thread my thoughts immediately turned to WW2, General de Gaulle, the Maquis, and Odette. Now I realise that it is just those GA people again with their VFR scenery. It is extremely difficult to see the Arc de Triomphe from thirty-odd thousand feet. Cry

Trust me, Ollie.
It really IS down there!!

I swear I saw it once - when flying through it, inverted!

I'm surprised that you heavy guys can see ANYTHING from so up aloft....especailly after a GnT (or 4) and with trolly dollies catering to your every (well, most?) whims.

Or whilst sitting & twiddling your important knobs (as it were!)

Myk, peter here again. It's been a long sordid tale and am probably too embarrassed to tell it all. I ended up uninstalling FSX twice, mainly due to having problems with the Southern England scenery which managed to blot out the Bristol Channel and all of Poole Harbour and around the mouth of the Exe. Then I lost my 78 airfields.
Anyway, I've got FSX back with the Southern England and Midlands scenery back but Horizon might come to my aid with a replacement disc for the 78 Airfields. It might arrive tomorrow Saturday 13th. It came up with an error "Decompression #5" I've spent most of my life thinking decompression stops were what skin divers had to do when surfacing after dives to considerable depths!!
I still haven't got around the problem of ALT and Enter causing a plummet to my frame rate. So my hopes to be able to use FS Commander are still on hold. I've tried FSInsider.com but they're ignoring me too!
